Never pay to get hired

Legitimate employers never ask candidates for fees, deposits, "training" payments, equipment money, or cryptocurrency to start a job. Treat any such request as a scam. Our guide on how to spot a remote job scam walks through the warning signs and a five-minute verification routine.

Verify before you engage

• Confirm who you're talking to, check the company's website and official email domains, and make sure the role really exists on their own careers page.
• Be cautious with anyone who rushes you, avoids video calls, or asks for sensitive personal or financial details up front.
• Keep early conversations on channels you control, and remember your application always happens on the employer's own site, never on CitizenHire.
